5 / 5 Stars A five-star review by Sue Roebuck at Ramsey's Reviewsby Sue Roebuck for Ramsey's Reviews

Savannah Heat is so atmospheric that I could smell it, visualize it, and feel the heat. With the well-rounded, believable characters, the setting was perfect. The plot, packed with subtle suspense, allows the pace to gallop to a cracking climax and the humor had me laughing out-loud throughout.

The suspense grows right up to the end and kept me fascinated. I believe Savannah Heat will satisfy everyone. It is such a well-balanced story with a touch of everything that it deserves a huge readership. I thoroughly recommend it.

5 / 5  Books  by Xeranthemum from Long and Short Reviews

Ms. North sure knows her way around great conflict, getting in touch with her character’s emotions, and wringing said emotions out of the reader at the same time. There was no way I was putting this book down until I’d reached the final page. The drama and suspense hinged on how in the world this woman was going to rebuild her life despite the above-average conflicts thrown at her.

Savannah Heat is a very well written and gripping story of a character I came to care for by virtue of Ms. North’s clever and descriptive writing. The secondary characters, even some whom I discounted as being a blip, totally revved up the plot and conflict and fed into my understanding of Bisque, the woman. I was so happy with how the happily ever after came about because it was romantic, soft, quite endearing, and humorous and true to the woman she became by the end. At the story’s completion, I found the Colonel to be as hot a man as she did and he’s going to be a great life partner for her. This is a terrific read and I highly recommend sitting down and finding all about a beautiful woman named, Bisque. I’m glad I did.

5 / 5  Crowns by Maria from Queen of All She Reads

I loved this charming and delightful book by Ms. North; it was a combination of women’s fiction, romance and a little bit of mystery/suspense. The characters were sharply written and there was quite of bit of tongue-in-cheek humor. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I intend to read more.

4.5 / 5.0 from MarthaE at Martha's Bookshelf

...The author makes the setting and characters natural, down to earth and as real as your own friends...But the most striking thing about the story was the emotional response that it evoked! I was shocked by the pain of discovering her husband’s greatest secret and frightened by... I was hurt by the demeaning attitude of her family, and my heart pounded at the cutting betrayal by her friend.  Best of all I was warmly touched by the Colonel’s persistent tenderness and Bisque’s ultimate acceptance of her individual worth. If you like a story where a woman comes into her own, or a mature romance packed with emotion, you will really want to read this book!

This is my first novel by “Carol North.” I loved it. The story starts with the widowhood of Miss Bisque...from there, how she carries on with her life [despite] shocking discoveries about her deceased husband...Miss Bisques struggles to make a name for herself with her art...the wonderful Colonel...joins her journey.

The story is captivating enough to keep you glued to the book...The story plot is very unique and the turn of events; are certainly not what you expect when you start the book, and that’s what makes it a very interesting and fun read.

I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys good, interesting fiction.
